On the 19th of November 7pm the book of poems and photographs “Los que nos fuimos” (Those of us who left) will be presented by the Peruvian poet Ana Noriega and Puerto Rican visual artist and musician Benji Rosen.
This book presents a particular point of view of the immigrant, emphasizing on the feelings and emotions of the process, instead of common material successes and failures. It centers mostly on the relations or emotional negotiations that are produced internally between “those who left” and “those who stayed”.
Various actresses with the theatrical direction of Walter Ventosilla will be presenting the poems and photographer Ana de Orbegoso and Visual Artist Silvia Huerta will curate the photo exhibit. Additionally, we will have the presence of various invited solo musicians and groups.
This presentation is partly sponsored by the organizations, Abya Yala Arte y Cultura, Hispanic Federation and the Latin American Poetry Festival of NY.
